Mahtomedi School District Early Childhood Screening
Early Childhood Screening is a free, state mandated program required for all children who will attend kindergarten at a public school. The Minnesota Department of Education recommends children are screened as early as 3 years of age.
• Screening is an opportunity for you to learn about your child’s growth and development and to ask questions if you have any concerns.
• Screening includes vision, hearing, and developmental assessment as well as an immunization and health history review.
• Screening is NOT an assessment to determine kindergarten readiness or IQ. Its purpose is to identify conditions which might interfere with a child’s learning.
YOU MUST NOTIFY DIANE TICH AT 651-407-2443 IF YOU CHILD HAS BEEN SCREENED ELSEWHERE. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION.
